Job description

  • Coordinate with engineering and New Product Development and other departments for clear specifications and procurement of materials, spares, consumables, samples and parts.
  • Sourcing of new suppliers, components, materials, etc. to support new products and initiatives
  • Supply and demand planning and spend analysis
  • Supply chain team risk identification and mitigation.
  • Negotiate and develop contracts, terms and deadlines with vendors and suppliers.
  • Reconciliation of duty remission scheme materials and lodging of documents with KRA.
  • Liaise with various agencies and arrange for export documentation for finished products and other company items
  • Create and implement procurement strategies and processes that are innovative, cost-effective, and incorporate the growing complexities and challenges within industry whilst driving continuous improvement
  • Develop key relationships with business stakeholders and strategic supply partners to improve business.
  • Manage disposal of company assets.

Requirements (E – essential, D – desirable):

  • Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement or equivalent – E
  • Experience in procurement from Asia especially China and India with knowledge of freight forwarding requirements in Asia and Kenya - E
  • Hands on experience with ERPs - E
  • Experience in international sourcing and hard supplier negotiations – E
  • Experience in dealing with regulatory agencies in import and export – KRA, KEBS, KPA, ACA - D
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills – E
  • Self-Starter and Self driven - D
