Job description

AMI is expanding rapidly. We are looking for a passionate and talented Senior Programme Manager to join us!

The Senior Programme Manager will be responsible for overseeing the end to end quality project delivery of AMI partner programmes and will report to the Lead, Partner Programmes.

AMI is working with the Private Sector Foundation of Uganda, in consultation with other key stakeholders, to draft national standards for business development support (BDS) for Uganda, and equip 200 BDS providers to meet these standards through a experiential learning programme. 50% of the successful hire's time will be spent project managing the learning programme phase of this key strategic project.

This role is based in Nairobi, Kenya.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Managing stakeholders in multiple AMI partner programmes. This includes ensuring that programme deliverables are met within stringent timelines and client expectations are managed.

2. Evaluating core learning outcomes and metrics within partner programmes.

3. Arranging and leading regular internal project team meetings with internal stakeholders

4. Execute on agreed best practices for AMI client project management.

5. Supporting the Learner Success team by co-facilitating programme kick off sessions and being present for graduations.

6. Ensuring that all programme communications are well managed internally and externally

7. Developing and managing detailed project plans and monitoring the project scope throughout the life of the programme.

8. Managing the budget after the internal kick-off by tracking and identifying shortfalls ahead of time

9. Collaborating with AMI’s Impact team in capturing project outcomes, impact, lessons learned and regularly updating internal and external programme stakeholders.

10.Manage all programme documentation.

11. Maintaining accurate programme data, analyzing programme data and feedback to ensure core programme metrics and targets are being met

12.Managing all client reporting requirements

13.Share learnings and insights during the Client Success collaboration sessions to inform future best team practices

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in business consulting, company training, enterprise development or management education (essential)
  • Proven programme management skills and experience (essential) within the context of Uganda enterprise and supplier development programmes
  • Experience working in entrepreneurial or high-growth environment (essential)
  • Postgraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • Facilitation experience (preferred)
