ABOUT COMPANY

Java House, commonly referred to as ‘Nairobi Java’, opened its first store in 1999 at Adam’s Arcade in Nairobi. With the aim of introducing gourmet coffee drinking culture in Kenya, the first outlet was a coffee shop and later the brand evolved to an American diner style restaurant to its present-day status as a 3 -day part coffee-led, casual dining concept.

Java House is now one of the leading coffee brands in Africa and has grown to have outlets in 14 cities across 3 countries in East Africa (Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda). It has also birthed two sister brands Planet Yoghurt, a healthy, tasty and fun frozen yoghurt store and 360 Degrees Pizza, a casual dining restaurant.

OUR MISSION

Coffee is Kenya’s a story of progress. As each crop is harvested — and as each cup is poured — the lives of Africa’s people improve.

Whether you work, eat or drink here, you’re part of the family. Unwinding with friends. Connecting for business. Catching up over great tasting food.

And this progress comes through in the range of our offering. It’s not just about fabulous coffee: you can travel the world with our menu. From Ugandan Homestyle Chicken Stew to a Vietnamese Báhn Mì Beef Sandwich, with a Forest Berry Danish to finish off.

Everything we serve helps East African farmers. From one coffee shop in Nairobi, we’ve grown to more than 50 branches. Providing jobs for more than 1,800 people.

We’ll keep growing for the good of our continent. And we’ll do it just like the way we grow Java House coffee beans: naturally, carefully, and fairly for all.
