Overview

Deevabits Green Energy (DGE) is a social enterprise that empowers Village Solar Entrepreneurs (VSEs), mainly youth and women, to establish micro-enterprises distributing solar lamps to the rural customers on a Pay-As-You-Go (PAYGo) basis. We are currently operating across seven counties and are looking for Field Collection Officer to handle customer care issues and collections efforts in Kitui County. Our sales team currently has 250 agents, living and working in the rural communities where our customers live. The Field Collection Officer will work closely with the Customer Care Manager to manage customer care support and collection while driving growth in Kitui County. Women are encouraged to apply.

 Duties and responsibilities

• Deal with customers diligently, courteously and professionally while collecting payments.
• Initiate strategies for collection processes and procedures within the assigned county.
• Negotiate re payment plans with customers.
• Respond to customer inquiries and Warranty Issues.
• Persuade customers diligently to pay past due amounts.
• Collaborate with the Finance team and the Area Sales Manager regarding collection of payments.
• Develop alternative payment plans with help from Finance Team.
• Collection of all damaged products from clients and ensure they are sent back to the office for repairs,
• Advise customers on alternative payment plans-preferably Weekly/Monthly payments.
• Create repayment schedules based on customers’ financial situations.
• Retain customer loyalty while initiating processes for collection of payments.
• Maintain and update record of customers from whom collections are made.
• Repossess products for customers who can no longer pay.
• Provide timely and accurate progress reports to the Management
• And any other duties that may be assigned by the Management from time to time

 Competency

• Minimum of one years’ experience
• Experience in customer relationship and debt collection is an added advantage
• Ability to build and manage relations at all levels within a fast-growing startup company
• Fluency in spoken English, Kiswahili and Kamba

Compensation

Compensation for the role is structured to include base pay and commission.
