About The Womanity Foundation

The Womanity Foundation (Womanity)’s vision is to live in a world, where women and men enjoy full social, economic and political rights. We at Womanity believe that empowering women and girls is the key to achieving global prosperity and wellbeing. Our programmes transform lives, remove barriers to success and challenge the status quo. We partner with businesses, social entrepreneurs and civil society around the world to deliver and scale effective grass-roots ideas and achieve meaningful impact through innovation, collaboration and replication.

The Foundation’s vision is to address violence against women and girls (VAWG) through prevention. It does this by acting as a catalyst for partnerships, and providing opportunities for organizations in the Global South to work and learn together. Womanity’s key objectives with the Womanity Award are:

  • Scale up innovation through adaptation, a model specifically designed to leverage strong, pre-existing ideas as part of a new partnership to end VAWG, rather than spend time and resources reinventing the wheel.
  • Accelerate the dissemination of learning, of promising practices and of impactful models addressing VAWG across different geographies and help to build transnational collaborations, between partners.
  • Strengthen the institutional capacity of both partner organizations.
  • Share and exchange knowledge and innovative ideas on violence prevention with the field of VAWG.
